From off a hill whose concave womb reworded
Three-quarters of the way into 2016 and the VR headset battle is almost on. Though Vive and Oculus had a head-start earlier in the year, PlayStation's Morpheus is going to be the biggest threat given its retail-worthy price.

However if you haven't seen in the news recently, the HTC Vive is looking to pull away from the pack by banishing its intrusive headset wires in favour of an easy-breezy wireless version. Though it stands out in quality, its room-scale experience is thwarted by a nest of wires connected to the back of your neck like an odd, alien umbilical cord. But given its partnership with Quark VR, we may not have long to wait before we can stop feeling like Rapunzel trying to make her way through a dark room.

We're awaiting Quark VR's product reveal with bated breath as they announced that they're close to having a working prototype. Trading in wires for Wi-Fi, the solution so far seems to be an extension connecting to the wires already inside the headset. You'll then pop a transmitter in your pocket and voila, you can stream wirelessly from your PC to the headset.

At least, that's the idea. Given the specs needed to run a wired Vive, the Wi-Fi can struggle to pass the information across fluidly, creating a little bit of delay/lag. This is definitely a no-no for any VR experience. Not only does it break immersion but it'll most likely make you sick as a dog.

We'll have to wait and see what happens over these coming months. From the looks of things we may be getting a demo as soon as this season. Wouldn't that be something?

[Source]

After their domination of The Golden Joystick Awards' Innovation and Mobile/Handheld Game categories, Niantic is giving something back to the players that made Pokemon GO such a success.

Even if you didn't hop on the Pokemon GO train back in the summer, there's little possibility that you won't at least know what it is, but we'll recap. Pokemon GO is an augmented reality game about walking around, catching Pokemon, and battling them to become the ultimate Pokemon master.

Now for the good stuff – between November 23rd and November 30th, Trainers will earn double the XP and Stardust when completing in-game actions. Looks like Christmas has come early.

If you don't have the app already then head on over to Google Play or the App Store, and download the game free-to-play.

Dragon Quest of the Stars has proven to be a pretty big hit over in Japan where it's seen more than 20 million downloads. Given that success, Square Enix has decided it's probably a good idea to bring it over to the West in early 2020 for iOS and Android.

Dragon Quest of the Stars will see players create their own custom character as well as two companions before setting off on an intergalactic journey to prevent the destruction of other planets. It's certainly some high stakes stuff then.

You'll come across various monsters from throughout the history of the Dragon Quest series where you'll defeat them by strategically activating the various abilities that you'll have at your disposal. To add a bit more strategy you'll also have to gear up before heading into the fight by choosing four items and one food item.

There will also be a number of multiplayer modes for those who like playing games with their friends. They'll be able to team up with 3 other players and embark on an intergalactic adventure together. If you're teaming up with random players you'll be able to communicate through the game's own emote system.

There will also be a closed beta on offer for Android users that will take place from 30th October to 11th November. You can sign up for that now through the official site. Though you may be unable to if you aren't in the correct region. Which regions this will be available in haven't been specified just yet.

Dragon Quest of the Stars will be available in early 2020. It will be available on the App Store and Google Play, the latter of which you may be able to pre-register for now depending on your region. It will be a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
Check out our news section to discover the latest, and greatest, games.

UKIP leader Nigel Farage is upset about a free Android game called UKIK made by 18-year-old students that parodies him and his party.

UKIK has you playing as Nicholas Fromage as he kicks stereotypes of immigrants off the white cliffs of Dover and into the sea.

You tap the screen to power up your kick, and tap again in order to release, then watch as the immigrant you kicked sails through the air.

There are three measurements for your kick in the game. Distance and Score are obvious ones, while the third is "UK Economy Down," which is measured in a rising percentage.

More telling of the game's political slant is what the Score measurement was before an update saw it changed - it measured Racism.

Farage saw the game before the update swapped out the Racism measure and spoke to the Kentish Gazette about it."Those elements are risible and in many ways pathetic. I think I'm quite well known for having a sense of humour," Farage said.

"I'm a public figure and of course people are going to have views. But elements of this game appear to cross the line."

UKIK was made by students as part of a technology class at Canterbury Academy.

On the game's Google Play page, the students describe themselves a "a team of developers who create games based upon controversial news stories for the purposes of entertainment and to encourage political discussion amongst young people.

They also add that the "purpose of [UKIK] is to highlight the importance of a diverse culture for our great nation as well as make a mockery of extremist views."

Farage said that he welcomed their opinions and wouldn't look to stifle their criticism.

"Fair play to them for having a bit of fun," Farage added. "If they want to go away and look at UKIP policies, they will actually learn a lot."
Eurogamer

Supercell, makers of the extremely popular Clash of Clans, have pushed another update to Clash Royale. If you didn't follow, it's Supercell's take on MOBA and Trading Card Games that has been soft launched for a few weeks now.

Today, the game received a new updates that adds a new legendary arena which unlocks at 3000 trophies and a new rule set when you are playing against friends.

Those battles are also free now, no longer requiring you to pay gold to check out your friends' deck.

But it's also an update that massively nerfs some of the most popular units. Arrows and freezes, two of the most common spells in the game, are now less powerful.

It's also the case of some of the most popular unit like the P.E.K.K.A, which gets a massive reduction in power but costs less to play.

Finally, you win as easily by spamming Barbarian as their hitpoints have been reduced.

If you want to check out the full list of changes go here.

We still don't have a firm date for its release worldwide but this patch makes it clear that we're closer than ever.
